Time Flies and New Adventures Await

I find it difficult to believe that we are already in the middle of June. March Break and Costa Rica seem like they were only a few weeks ago, and yet here we are at the end of the school year. The end of school this year marks a bigger transition for me than usual, not only am I saying goodbye to the class of 2017, but I am also saying goodbye to my time in Ryder House. For two years now Ryder House has been my home, working in the residence with all the guys has been some of the best and most challenging experiences I've ever had as a teacher. For anyone who has never experienced boarding life, it can be a challenge to explain. And now my time here is coming to an end. It's more than just a change of living space, it feels like I'm losing a part of my family, and I have no idea when I'll ever get the opportunity to have this experience again.

To make this transition even more challenging, I only have ten days between the end of year closing and when I take off on my next adventure. June 26th I take off for London, England where I will start a 4 week adventure taking me across France, Switzerland, and Italy. I'm incredibly excited to be going back to Europe again. I get to see London and Paris again, and then move on to visit many places that are completely new to me, including: Zermat, Venice, Rome, Sorrento, Florence, Pisa, and Nice. I cannot wait to sit down for dinner in the Latin Quarter of Paris again, and I can only begin to imagine the amazing opportunities I will come across along the rest of my adventures.

I'm going to do my best to be present in each moment, being conscious of how amazing it is to be able to experience things that very few ever get the chance. I look forward to journaling and blogging my adventures so that I can always look back and enjoy them again.
