The end of one thing. The start of something new.

We have finally reached the last week of classes for the 2021-22 school year, which means I am wrapping up my final classes in Colombia, and getting ready to pack up and move everything to the next adventure in Tunisia! The past four years here in Colombia have been filled with the unexpected, and when I compare who I was when I arrived to who I am as I prepare to leave, the adventure was filled with a lot of positive growth and change.

In many ways I am sad that COVID-19 put a lot of limits on what I was able to do and see while here, I know that I will be back regularly with many more opportunities for the adventures around the country and continent. However, I cannot overstate how the adversity of COVID and teaching abroad forced me through some much needed growth. I feel that I am a much better teacher and person because of my experiences here.

Evelin and I are almost ready for our big move, with key details like flights booked. So August 3rd will be our final day in Medellín, and due to a combination of flight times and time zones, August 5th will be our first day in Tunis! This means our first anniversary will be two days after we arrive in our new house and city. I am so grateful for the love and support Evelin gives me every day, and cannot wait for us to start this new chapter together.
